RESOLUTION 01/7-9
CALIFORNIA CONGRESS OF REPUBLICANS
Board of Directors

SUPPORT FAIR REAPPORTIONMENT
Resolution Adopted July 29, 2001 by
The California Congress Of Republicans Board Of Directors

WHEREAS Reapportionment is critical to the Republican Party's future, AND

WHEREAS The composition of the State Assembly and State Senate and possibly the control of the House of Representatives is as stake, AND

WHEREAS That only with the unconditional support of all Republican State Legislators can a referendum be begun after a gerrymander plan is enacted by the Legislature. If Republican deflections occur a 2/3 legislative vote will prevent a referendum,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED
That the California Congress of Republicans urges every Republican Legislature to stand united against the Democrat plan to preserve the referendum option, AND

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the California Congress of Republicans send a copy of this Resolution to all Republican State Legislators, and that this Resolution be presented as a Resolution of this body at the next California Republican Party Convention for their consideration and adoption and place a copy of this Resolution in the official CCR Book of Resolutions.
